Freddy the Fishing Boat

INTRODUCTION
Freddy lives in the Fishing Boat Dock of a small fishing village called Puddle Port which is built on the shores of a large sheltered harbour called The Poole. Freddy shares the dock with his best friend Ben the Boat and the rest of the local fishing fleet. In the fishing fleet are little boats like Freddy and Ben who are learning to fish.
There are bigger boats that fish locally in the Poole and out in the Bay, and then come home at night to Puddle Port and some to Big Town. Then there are the Big Sea fishing boats that travel out into the Big Sea and stay out fishing for days at a time. When Freddy grows up he wants to be a Big Sea fishing boat.
Freddy has lots of friends who live and work in and around the harbour. Many of them live in the port of Harbour Town which is built on the banks of the River Flow.
Harbour Town is a very busy place. It has the Quay one side of the river. This is where the Harbour Master has his office in the Customs House. The police boats, pilot boats, life boats and sight seeing boats are also based next to the Quay.
On the other side of the river is the Port where all the container ships and tankers bring in goods from other countries. The port has cranes which work very hard unloading all the goods from the ships and loading them on to trains and trucks which go to the market in Big Town. Harbour Town Quay and Port are joined by a special bridge which lifts up to let boats pass up the river and goes down to let cars drive across.
The Poole is a very interesting place as you can see by the map. There is always lots going on there and out in the Bay. Not only are Freddy and his friends always busy and having fun , but there are always visitors, holiday makers and sightseers there too.
So the harbour is very busy and has lots of characters living and visiting there. This is a story about the adventures of one little fishing boat called Freddy and his life amongst all his friends. Freddy is a happy little fishing boat who is very friendly, very inquisitive and very mischievous, who is full of fun and brings joy to all he meets.
